How does it move?

Use a flowchart for a sequence and decisions. Use swimlanes when responsibility across groups is part of the explanation.

What connects to what?

Use an architecture or dependency diagram to show components, boundaries and their relationships.

How is it organized?

Use a tree for a hierarchy, a timeline for change over time or a floor plan for a physical arrangement.

READ WITH THE DRAWING

Choose a sequence for movement, a tree for ownership and a bounded system for dependencies. Consistent labels make each relationship easier to read.
